A Life On Display (’10)
A Life On Display is a short film about Wilhelm, a polar bear in the North Carolina Zoo, who was rescued from an abusive circus in 2002. The film utilizes experimental elements, such as animation, as a way to show the childlike nature from which we view zoo animals. Of course, the animation is in juxtaposition of Wilhelm’s troubled past. Underneath the aesthetic elements, it is a story about how an animal survives the dangers of human nature.
